    Hey!
My name is Fred McKinnon, I’m a Worship Leader, Pianist, Producer, and yes … a blogger! (see http://www.fredmckinnon.com) I’d love for you to come checkout my blog sometime, learn more about me, etc. I also have the Highest Praise Worship Podcast (http://www.highestpraise.com/podcast) and the Worship Interludes Podcast (www.worshipinterludes.com)

Anyway, if you have the time, I need help if possible … I’m boldy going and approaching some great leaders/bloggers, etc., about this:

I’ve launched a site called “The Worship Community” at:
    http://www.theworshipcommunity.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=1

It’s a forums site for discussion of worship, worship leadership, worship music, Technologies for Worship, etc. I’m hoping to get a huge swell of new users in the community through the network/subculture of worship/pastoral leadership bloggers, music lovers, and fellow Christians.

We’re doing a full-blown referral contest right now – for those people who come and Register (free) … you get a special “/?referrerid= …” URL. We’re running the contest to get people to come … a “qualified referral” is one who has posted 5+ threads or replies by June 30. The prizes are:

    1st: $50 iTunes Gift Cert
    2nd: $30 iTunes Gift Cert
    3rd: $20 iTunes Gift Cert

I’m paying that out of pocket, and will be investing in some email marketing blasts to Worship Musician, Worship leader, and ChristianMusic magazine subscribers as well.

Would love for you to check it out, and if you feel it’s worthy of mention, blog it … and of course, hope you’ll join and introduce yourself – use your referral URL and you could win!

    Thanks again!

    Hey there,
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your site. As a fellow worship leader venturing into the world of loops, beats, glitches, and programming it is invaluable. Currently I have found myself in a drumerless and bassless situation so programming has become my band (along with some guitars). Is there anyway you could hook me up with some of your song files for worship? It just takes so long to program songs and I feel bad for my congregation for my lack of variety in my worship sets (due to the time crunch). Anyway, regardless your site is a great blessing to me and extremely practical. Have a good one.

I do agree that Ableton Live is an incredible platform for live worship. Check out the content ready for Live at http://www.interactiveworshiplive.com!

    Hey Man,

I’m a regular reader of your blog and just wanted to fire you a quick email about something my church has going on that might in interest you. I have a brother in Nigeria who’s best friends with the ex-president’s wife and she needs to get twenty billion dollars out of the country… Just kidding.

I’m the Worship “Guy” at Calvary Chapel Jupiter in Palm Beach County, Florida and we just finished up our first all-original worship album. The goal is simply to write songs that will be a blessing to the Church in general. Songs from the local church, for the local church.

You can listen to the whole album online at CCJworship.com and if you think you might use any of the songs at your church, just let me know and I’ll mail you a free copy. That’s it – no catch… and I’m not going to show up at your church asking to play for a “love offering”!

Let me know if you’re interested…

    Thanks & GB,

    Jeff Thompson

Hey, thanks for sharing. I have benefitted already. I’m pretty new to Ableton and it DOES take a long time to put a set–or even one tune–together.

Mainly because of that, and also to do in-person what you’re doing via the web, I’m starting a local (Seattle, WA area) user group for folks that use Ableton Live in worship. I know there it’s a growing crowd.

If you’d like to host some of our stuff (it would be really simple, believe me) I’d be willing to share. We’re just doing it to share. No profit motive, other than saving time.

Hey, I just attended the Christian Musician Summit (highly recommended) here in Seattle this last weekend.

Found out that Vineyard Music is starting to provide stuff made just for Ableton Live. They’re going through their Pro Tools sets and creating music packs ready-made for Live. I bought the 5 they have available ($10 each) and they are way-cool. They come as live packs, all set to go with click and everything.

    Hello-
I’m enjoying what you’ve created here and have a question about loops and video playback. I’d like to link video and triggered loops so that as a verse plays, for example, the appropriate slide will be display. I’ve seen that I can place a video in the arrangement view but don’t see that it can be done within the session view. I would like the ability to repeat a verse, for example, rather than singing a linear arrangement such as what you would do within the arrangement window. I look forward to any thoughts you might have. Thanks again for all that you’re doing.

    Ed
